Now that you have your beautiful new lash extensions, you’re going to want to protect your investment.  Following the tips we outline in this posts will give you all the information you need to care for your Happy Lash eyelash extensions, and keep the compliments coming!

Within the first 24-48 hours from your eyelash extension application avoid getting your eyelashes wet so that the glue may properly cure. After that timeframe however, it is important to remember that water is not the enemy! To maintain the health and longevity of your eyelash extensions we recommend gently washing your eyelashes with a mild baby shampoo. Just remember… no scrubbing!

Do not pick or pull your eyelashes. Keep the area around your eyes clean by blotting with a clean soft wash cloth. Never rub directly on your eyelashes.

For active individuals, please try to wear a hair band to keep your hair and sweat away from your eye area.

Avoid hot steam from showers, or excessive heat from saunas or tanning beds within the first 48 hours.  We advise keeping sauna and tanning salon visits to a minimum even after this inital timeframe to help preserve the life of your eyelash extensions.

Avoid harsh chemical or manual eyelash curlers to prevent breakage of your eyelashes.

 For make up removal, please avoid oil base cleansers or removers! Instead, use water or gel based cleansers that will not interfere with the bond on your eylash extensions.

Avoid cotton balls, cottom rounds or other fibrous cleaning pads. Fibers may get lodged in the base of your lashes and cause irritation.

Chemical peels, alpha hydroxy and other highly acidic substances should also be avoided whiles wearing your fabulous new eyelash extensions. These substances will dissolve the adhesive bonding agent.

 Please remember to schedule your re-lash within three to four weeks of your initial appointment in order to touch up any lashes that have completed their life cycle.  Following this timeline will help insure that your lashes are always in their most beautiful and fullest condition.

Wear comfortable clothing.

you will lay down for 60 to 90 minutes with dimmed lights and soft music as your backdrop during your eyelash application, comfortable clothes will allow you to make the most of this time to relax and be pampered.

Remove your contacts.

your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions, to avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts are removed allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state.

Turn off your cellphone just prior to your appointment.

this is truly a time to sit back and relax. ringing cellphones will only interrupt your treatment. enjoy the “me” time, and let your lash transformation begin.

Don’t:

Wear makeup.

makeup products worn close to the eye will need to be removed prior to the lash application process. coming to your appointment with a clean face will save time and eliminate the need for you lash stylist to remove your eye makeup.

Apply face creams or sunblock to the eye area.
